The Pain Management Service staff works in partnership with referring physicians to provide care for patients with ongoing or temporary pain. Supported by cutting-edge technology and the latest evidence-based research discoveries, the experienced, knowledgeable pain specialists conduct a complete analysis of each patient and develop an individualized treatment plan.
Depending on the patient's condition, the doctors can relieve pain completely, reduce the amount of pain or provide methods and medications that will help long-term sufferers cope better with the condition in their daily lives. Overall, the Pain Management goals include helping patients achieve a greater sense of control over their condition and improved quality of life. Doctors share techniques for reducing pain, reducing the amount of drugs taken and improving everyday activity levels. In addition selected patients may require psychiatry, behavioral medicine, physical therapy, and acupuncture.
Considered a key member of The Pain Management team, the patient's referring doctor is consulted regularly and kept informed of the patient's treatment and progress.
